Joseph Nelson

Joseph Nelson is a legal and financial consultant, not only in the field of communications and electronics but also real estate.

Since Mt. Founded in 2009, he has contributed to the discovery and acquisition of large numbers of real estate properties in many Midwest markets in the United States.

He is the managing director of Mt. Helix and Helix Homes America, responsible for all company operations in the US and Asia.

Mr. McCormick’s 42 year successful career in the real estate financial industry has afforded him “hands on experience” in both the direction and performance of general accounting procedures and the dissemination of accurate financial information to allow for informed management decisions. As a key management team member he is extremely proficient in financial and cash management, analysis, budgeting, auditing and reporting.

Mr. McCormick’s skills in financial and cash management expertise, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis are enhanced with his banking relationships, his employee management and training knowledge and his well rounded business experience in both residential and commercial real estate. His financial skills have assisted in guiding growing companies while seeing their sales rise from $32.5 million to $150 million. He has assisted start up real estate firms build their financial departments, develop financial stability, and facilitated in their eventual sale.

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of the management team, Mr. McCormick provides both operational and systems support for all divisions of the company. He offers direction as it relates to the financial structure of each division and is responsible for the development of financial policies and procedures and reports on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding. He assists in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization’s mission and helps execute the company’s growth plans.

Mr. McCormick participates in the development of new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective programmatic budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of each division. He oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.

His responsibilities include oversight of the purchasing and payroll activity for staff and participants as well as training staff in the financial reporting systems for the firm, and monitoring banking activities of the organization to ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
